Dr. Olena Bogdan is an expert in religious and ethnic affairs, democratization and well-being studies. She received her PhD from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and has taught a wide variety of social science courses in top Ukrainian universities for 15 years. Dr. Bogdan also has an extensive experience of working with non-governmental social projects as well as government sector. She served as the Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Affairs and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) from 2020 to 2022 and worked for the International Organization for Migration, Mission in Ukraine (2007‒2008). In 2021‒2022, Olena Bogdan served as the Vice-Chair of the Council of Europe Steering Committee on Anti-Discrimination, Diversity and Inclusion (elected twice by secret vote of member states).
Dr. Marietta van der Tol is a re:constitution Fellow 2023/24 and specialises in the comparative study of politics, law, and religion. She is college lecturer in politics at Lincoln College and postdoctoral research fellow at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. Her research focusses on the position of ethnic, religious, and sexual minorities in European constitutional systems, with particular reference to historical, religious, and legal legacies of toleration. Her book Constitutional Intolerance: The Fashioning of the Other in European Constitutional Systems will appear with Cambridge University Press in 2024. Dr. Marietta van der Tol convenes several networks that critically engage populism, nationalism, and democracy, as well as political theology, bridging conversations between academics, politicians, journalists, and religious organisations.
Prof. Dr. Roman Petrov is Jean Monnet Chair in EU Law and Head of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. He obtained his PhD at the Queen Mary University of London and has been awarded various research visiting fellowships. Areas of his research and teaching are: EU Law, EU External Relations Law; Approximation and Harmonisation of Legislation of Third Countries with the EU acquis; Legal Aspects of Regional Integration in the Post-Soviet Area, Non-Recognised Entities in EU Law and International Law. Prof. Dr. Petrov frequently provides consultancy to state institutions in Ukraine, including the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and Ministry of Justice. He is an expert in EU Law at the European Parliament and Secretariat of the Energy Community. Currently, Prof. Dr. Petrov is P. Schwartz Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg.

Dr. Regina Elsner is a theologian and appointed Professor of Eastern Church Studies and Ecumenics at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Münster. She is also an affiliated researcher at the Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) in Berlin. She studied Catholic theology and worked as a project coordinator for Caritas Russia in St. Petersburg and as a research assistant on the topic of historical and theological aspects of the Russian Orthodox Church's confrontation with modernity. In 2016, she completed her doctorate on this topic. Dr. Regina Elsner is co-spokesperson of the Religion Section of the German Association for East European Studies (DGO) and a member of the PRO ORIENTE Steering Committee for the Orthodox-Catholic Dialogue.
